You may find for very fast input monitoring the 003 may not be so great but a modern interface will be. Not only that Quantum offers blistering latency which is great for input monitoring ultra fast with no delays. This will be a more modern interface with better sounding converters than the 003 era. With one or two ADAT optical Mic preamps attached you can end up with 24 input channels. Otherwise look at some of the excellent PreSonus interface range. Buy THREE (3) 28oz Powerade, Get ONE (1) 28oz Powerade FREE (max value 1.15). You could add a few powerful external synths to this too.
